DigitalOcean joins as a Founding Corporate Patron with $3 million

DigitalOcean is joining the Omacom Foundation as a Founding Corporate Patron, contributing $1 million a year for three years! That’s a $3 million commitment to the development, maintenance, and spread of Omarchy. What an incredible vote of confidence in the beautiful, fun & agentic OS we’re building.

I’ve used DigitalOcean Droplets for over a decade. They’re a wonderfully straightforward way to put a Linux machine on the internet and get on with building something. We use them to run contributors.rubyonrails.org, the site that celebrates the thousands of people who’ve helped make Rails what it is. This is infrastructure I’ve relied on for years, so having the company behind it join us feels especially good.

And they’re the perfect patron for an agentic OS. DigitalOcean already offers one-click Droplets for Hermes and OpenClaw. You can have an agent at home on your Omarchy desktop and another working around the clock on a Droplet.

But the part of this patronage that really made me smile was how quickly it all came together. I reached out to Paddy Srinivasan, DigitalOcean’s CEO, on X on Wednesday. We had a call that same night. I sent a proposal on Saturday. By Sunday, we’d finalized everything.

That’s the speed of collaboration that’s possible with X, agents, and boundless ambition! When people see the same opportunity and want to make something happen, there’s no reason to spend months getting to yes. We can move at the pace of the possibilities in front of us.

DigitalOcean joins Meta Superintelligence Labs as a Founding Corporate Patron, alongside all the individuals and companies who’ve already stepped up to fund this mission. Their pledge brings our total backing to approximately $18.5 million. More room to invest in the people, projects, and infrastructure that make Omarchy better for everyone.

Like hiring more amazing people! We’ve just brought on Krzysztof Wilczyński as Head of Omarchy Kernel and outfoxxed, the creator of Quickshell, as Head of Omarchy Shell. Giving people like these the chance to work full time on making Omarchy faster, more reliable, and more capable is only possible with patrons like DigitalOcean. Their backing turns our ambitions into actual jobs for the people who can make them happen.

Thank you, Paddy and everyone at DigitalOcean. Let’s put this backing to work and make the beautiful, fun, agentic future of Linux happen!
