Omacom Foundation secures $1.95M in tokens from leading labs
Omarchy isn’t just a beautiful, fun & agentic Linux distribution for those who end up using it. It’s also built that way! With beauty, fun, and a whole lot of tokens. In fact, Omarchy Quattro has almost exclusively been built by agents. Because they’re just incredibly good at stuff like bash, QML, and debugging Linux issues.
To continue to make Omarchy better now that we’ve attracted hundreds of thousands of users and cocreators, we need to keep the tokens flowing. This is how we accelerate, improve, and deliver on all the amazing contributions that have been pouring out. We already have a backlog of 1,600+ PRs from just a few weeks after launch! Ain’t nobody getting through that without agentic assistance.
Thus, I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve secured a motherload of tokens from most of the major labs for this mission! First is Meta Superintelligence Labs who is coming on as a Founding Token Patron with $1.5m in tokens! Their new Meta Muse Spark model is putting down great numbers at an awesome price. So $1.5m is basically unlimited tokens! (We’ll try to exhaust them nonetheless!)
But we’re also thrilled to welcome two of the other leading frontier labs, Anthropic and OpenAI, as Distinguished Token Patrons with $150,000 in token donations each. These will become particularly handy when paired with the security clearance needed to strip the guardrails we need for security research and fixes.
And for open-weight models, I’m equally thrilled to announce Fireworks as a Distinguished Token Patron as well with $150,000 in tokens pledged. I’ve been a frequent user of the Kimi K models in particular, and especially when running at fast mode. We will put these speedy tokens to great use as well!
Combined, this is another $1.95 million pledged to the Omacom Foundation. Which then puts our total pledges to $14.95 million dollars. What a crazy number to type out for a distro that early detractors dismissed as a bunch of dotfiles (which to be fair wasn’t entirely wrong at the time, but then we just kept fixing everything!).
With all these tokens, we can fix everything. And that’s what we’re going to do!
